We have a website which is already in the Spanish and French Language. The string are already extracted and had put in the separate property files.
I need to know what are the other ways then the pseudo localization testing where you append the special character before and after the string to know that whole string is being displayed.
I'm not sure I understand your question correctly, but testing the strings being displayed is only a small part of i18n, you need also to make sure that the interactions can be created in the native thong as well; this is the L10N part of the test that sometimes is the most tricky and important.
In this case, I'd suggest to get a list of representative strings (names, short texts, large texts, proper names, etc) and create you input-output scenarios based on the interaction fields existing in your website.

And what are the couple of other things apart form the normal functionality that I should test as i18n testing??
