I have been tasked to write a utility that will extract all the existing data from our test director database and load that data in to the corresponding fields in pvcs tracker. Does anyone possess the database schema for test director? Field lenghts, datatypes etc?
Ask you Oracle DBA to access the databsase for you and you can view all the table and field level information you will require.
I don't know that the info exists all in one place, but you might contact Mercury to see if you can get at it.
Two other suggestions or possible areas for help: the Project Admin tool, if you 'connect' to the DB, you can view all of the fields and how they're set up - I don't know, however, if you can get the type.
Additionally, if you copy a project as an Access DB, it's often times much easier to at least extract what you're looking for in terms of writing a program.
Doesn't MI provide an integration with Tracker?
