I trying to evaluate the tools Winrunner, QaRun, Silktest and Rational Robot.
We need to test gui based application on Windows and Unix(Sun, HP).
no web, no java, no client/server
Only vb6 for the GUI and C++ or Fort ran.
We also use Oracle for our database.
I found that all the tools have the same functionality.
Does anybody know witch criteria should I used for my evaluation?
We already use Rational Rose, that could be a reason to choose Robot...).

Not being your first post here, I assumed that you're familiar with forums' search.
Use it, or just look at the last posts and you'll find good clues for your question, and ,more than that, interesting opinions and links to useful articles on this issue.
Another reason to use Robot would be because it uses VBscript which might prove helpful for finding resources since you're developing in VB. Use each tool and attempt to automate a few complex areas of your application. Consider how they implement Data-driving, verification points, failure reporting and other features and see which one you like best. Just because something has a feature doesn't mean its implemented in the best way for you. As an example, RobotJ (not Robot) can pull data from any source using java but its not for the weak of heart and doesn't have a wizard interface for this task.
Seeing how your requirements are for both Windows and Unix, be sure your tool of choice makes it easy to re-map control (widget) ID’s when you port from one OS to the other. The changes across OS platforms are (usually) minor compared to modifying your GUI maps.
Visual Basic and a C++ GUI toolkit on Unix are very different animals in terms of what your automation tool will see.
