Load and Performance Tests: Quick and Easy
Xceptance LoadTest (XLT) is a tool for creating and running regression and load tests, in particular for web applications. XLT combines the automation of regression tests with the execution of load tests, as the test cases already created for the automated regression test can subsequently be applied as load tests. In short: Every regression test can also be a load test.
Our experience in the area of load and performance tests as part of product development makes XLT a field-tested and innovative tool which can be used not only by testers but also by developers.
How does it work?
Test cases are created based on a sophisticated programming model. By using Java to develop tests, and through its comprehensive JUnit 4 support, XLT builds on the already existing knowledge within a company. This reduces the training time needed and allows testers and developers to quickly become comfortable with the program. In addition, web applications can be automated with the help of the XLT recorder.
Since it is platform-independent, XLT takes advantage of the existing IT infrastructure for testing, thus reducing administrative work and licensing costs. For distributed load tests, XLT can be scaled across as many test machines as necessary, including machines at different sites.
Distributed load tests can also be done using the XLT cloud service. This puts a scalable IT infrastructure at the client’s disposal, making distibuted load test possible without tying up the company’s own hardware resources.
Use Cases
By combining regression with load tests, XLT is ideal for use during the development phase, but it is also easy to integrate into project work, thanks to its simple licensing and easy installation.
- The Basic License is available free of charge to anyone and permits development and recurring execution of all test scenarios with up to five virtual users.
- For the execution of load tests with more than five virtual users, you need a Standard License. The cost of the standard license is defined by your testing needs.
- Open-Soure projects can request an unlimited, free Community License.
